Skincare Tips for Spring

Winter is out the door (well, almost), taking with it our dry, itchy and irritated skin – And as spring is finally on the horizon, here comes warmer air and increased humidity. So, how do we prep our skin for spring and sunnier days?

Here are some tips on getting healthy, gorgeous skin just in time for summer:

Exfoliate

Winter comes with dry, flaky skin. Gentle weekly exfoliation can help you unveil your springtime glow. It is important to remove dead skin cells clogging your skin so the fresh new cells can surface. And with this, skincare products can penetrate more deeply into the skin.

Grab a Mist

If you haven’t dived in the face mist trend yet, now is the time! Spray Purvari Organic Rose Petal Mist underneath your moisturizer to keep skin extra soft. Infuse in rosewater, this mist is rich in nutrients and antioxidants that fight aging and restore skin health. It is a natural source of vitamin C, it balances oil production, and it tones and hydrates the skin.

Swap Your Moisturizer

Swapping your moisturizer for something lighter is key! Our skin tends to hold more water in the spring and summer, so you won't need as much protection. A hyaluronic acid-or water-based formula is recommended.

Step Up Your SPF

Using a moisturizer with an SPF 30 is fine for the winter, but for sunnier days is important to have sunscreen-separate from your lotion and makeup – that is at least SPF 50. With more sunlight, warmer temperatures, and more time spent outside we will have higher sun exposure and a higher risk of sunburns and sun damage.

Lighten Up Your Makeup

With spring comes a new color palette and makeup spring-cleaning! It is a great time to experiment with lighter-weight foundation, rosy blushes, and fun color trends. It is also a good time to clean brushes and replace the old with the new, as much possible. This will allow us to ditch on any germs that have built up in our makeup over time.

Exercise

This may not pertain to skincare products, but regular exercise is great for your health and skin. It encourages blood flow and circulation to your face, which can help flush out toxins. Exercise also acts like a mini-facial for your face because when you sweat your pores open and expel dirt and oil.
